SW Treasure: Deku's Sadness is a Side Quest in the Second Wind expansion for Breath of the Wild. The reward for this quest is the Deku Mask, an item that grants Link Shock Resistance. This quest is given by the Old Ranch Journal.
Overview[]
This Quest is activated upon reaching Hyrule Kingdom and loading the overworld of Hyrule. When this quest is activated, Link will be tasked with finding the Old Ranch Journal, which is located in the Ranch Ruins. The journal contains clues to the locations of four Treasure Chests, each containing a mask. The hint in the journal corresponding to the Deku Mask's location is as follows:
"The first, made in the form of a strange wooden creature was left in the middle of a maze-like forest overlooking the world."
The Treasure is located at the Korok Forest at the center of the Great Hyrule Forest in the Woodlands Region. To reach the mask, climb to the top of the Great Deku Tree. Stamina boosting potions and/or Revaili's Gale will help with this task. Once Link reaches the top of the Great Deku Tree, the Chest can be found by climbing the wall behind the Korok Walton. Once Link opens the Treasure Chest, the Deku Mask is obtained, completing the Quest.
