Old Ranch Journal is an Object in Breath of the Wild: Second Wind.

Old Ranch Journal is a Book that was written by an unknown person who claims to have resided in the Ranch Ruins at some point in time. It can only be found after installing installing The Ancient Trials SW Mod. It can be found on the outskirts of the ranch, behind a broken wall.
The Book is important for several Side Quests that become available when Link leaves the Great Plateau. It is needed to progress through SW Treasure: Deku's Sadness, SW Treasure: Goron's Despair, SW Treasure: Zora's Regret and SW Treasure: Hidden Truth. At first, Link will question the newly-found book, asking himself if he has seen it here before. When read it tells the story of a ranch-hand who travelled the world after discovering Masks buried behind the windmill, it notes the location where these masks were left on their journey.
